More Multimedia in recruiting…

We’ve been continuing to research the use of videos and other multimedia content in recruiting efforts. From what i’m seeing, it’s all good news! I came across this new start-up company based out of Canada called StandOutJobs that looks like they are working on using video job ads to help companies better differentiate themselves. I spoke to the cofounders over there and I get a sense that they have a lot of other features/functionality they’ll be bringing to the market soon…can’t wait to see what they are up to.

We’ve continued to talk with small and large companies about this idea..and the overwhelming response is that companies really WANT to be able to better market their jobs using multi-media technologies. When you look at the possibilities and the effectiveness of such “job commercials”, it’s not that surprising. Up until now, all companies have been able to do is move the 2-3 paragraph job ad they placed in a newspaper to placing the same Ad electronically on a job board….not exactly a huge amount of progress.(I’m speaking strickly about the job ad format).

The future of job marketing is clear….and leveraging multi-media content in recruitment advertising is just going to increase over the coming years as companies look to differentiate themselves from the pack.
